FREEDOM FROM DIABETES
The World’s Best Treatment Program
Type I, Type 1.5, Type II, and Type III diabetes are chronic conditions affecting 1.6 million Americans, including many children. Type I is an autoimmune disease, Type 1.5 shares traits of both Type I and Type II, Type II involves insulin resistance, and Type III links to insulin resistance in the brain and Alzheimer’s.

Insulin is not a cure

64.000 people are diagnosed each year in the U.S.

2.1 million people in the U.S. are expected to have Diabetes by 2040.

Less than one-third of people with Diabetes in the U.S. are consistently achieving target blood-glucose control levels.
Almost everyone knows a friend or a family member who has diabetes, so it should not be surprising that in the United States, more than 25 million people, or roughly 8 percent of the population, have the disease. While diabetes can cause serious health problems, it can now be successfully managed by working closely with your health care team.
What is Diabetes?

it is important to first understand how your body processes sugar.
Those with diabetes have blood glucose, or blood sugar, levels that are too high. When you eat, the glucose (sugar) from the food is transferred to your cells in order to provide energy. For this to happen, your body releases a hormone called insulin that helps process the glucose. When your body does not make enough insulin, or isn’t able to use insulin properly, the sugar stays in your blood. Over time this can lead to serious complications such as kidney damage or blindness. Uncontrolled diabetes can also contribute to heart disease, stroke, and even the loss of a limb. In severe cases, it may even cause seizures and coma.
There are several types of diabetes, each with distinct characteristics and causes.
Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that causes your body to create antibodies (little warriors) that attack the pancreas, which produces insulin. Insulin is a hormone that regulates blood sugar levels. If you have type 1 diabetes, your body cannot create insulin, leading to high blood sugar levels.
Type 1.5 diabetes, also known as Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults (LADA), shares features of both type 1 and type 2 diabetes, with autoimmune destruction of insulin-producing cells occurring more slowly. Type 2 diabetes differs as it is often related to insulin resistance, where the body’s cells do not respond properly to insulin, combined with a relative lack of insulin production.
Type 3 diabetes, a term sometimes used to describe Alzheimer’s disease, suggests a potential link between insulin resistance in the brain and the development of Alzheimer’s symptoms.

Finding the Root Cause

We know that autoimmunity requires 3 things to develop:
- Genetic predisposition
- Leaky gut (a.k.a intestinal permeability)
- An environmental trigger
It All Starts in the Gut!
Our small intestine consists of 25 feet of tubing, the inside surface area being equivalent to that of a doubles tennis court!
Proteins called “tight junctions” prevent a flood of material into the gut. Low vitamin D levels coupled with inflammation in the gut starts to widen the space between cells, allowing materials (bacteria and food) to start seeping through.
This triggers inflammation and antibodies are formed against our own tissue.
